Christmas in June!

Santa made a surprise visit at Nature’s Pet Market while I was taking 4th of July photos.  So of course I asked if he would pose with some of the cuties who came for their portraits.  He obliged and I was happy to get some great shots to use for promotional purposes for this year’s Christmas photo shoots.  Aren’t they all adorable?  There’s Ziggy in his 4th of July scarf and Dakota, Penny and Dexter all lined up.  Fuego had a few things to tell Santa about not wanting to live with any more dogs (Loki and Murphy share his home).  Kuna opted for a red collar with bells for her photo with Santa and Spork wore her 4th of July scarf handmade by her Momma. Lucy, the Diva, opted for a Santa hat. Such fun we all had!!!  Enjoy!

Merry Merry

Merry Christmas from NosesTailsPaws Pet Photography!   (Rebecca and Bill and Molly and Dugan – our Wheaten Terriers).

Also below are some of the images I took at a recent holiday
photo-shoot.  Next up….Valentine’s Day!

Fall, Winter and the Holidays

Fall, winter and the holidays were in the air when I photographed these cuties last weekend.  Java the gorgeous black cat would only pose with a collar or hat.  Rocky the Boxer kissed me, my assistant and the lens on my camera while Buddy the Lab posed quietly.  Murphy the 11-month old Golden Retriever was beyond excited.  And Thornton (who I’ve had the pleasure of photographing since he was 10 weeks old – he’s almost five now) sat regally with a Christmas bow around his neck.  Bandit helped me with a lighting test and wore a cool Christmas hat.  I’m looking forward to more photo shoots on November 24, December 1 and December 8.  So fun!!!!

Valentine’s Cuties

I just love spending time photographing dogs.  Sigh.  Each one puts a smile on my face. Another wonderful day at Nature’s Pet Market in Salem (OR).  Here are just a few of the cuties who showed up for Valentine’s photos! If you are local and have a dog or cat….this pet market is THE place to go.  They have the best most nutritious food for your pets, toys, leashes, vitamins, treats, sweaters, rain jackets…you name it.  And on holidays (Fall/Christmas/Valentine’s….etc) they have me…photographing dogs.  Enjoy!

Holiday Faces

I’ve been having such a great time the last couple of weeks taking holiday shots of some of the sweetest dogs. I partnered with FINAL - all three on couch w logoa local boarding/grooming/training facility called Suite Dog Daze to provide a holiday scarf photo after a bath and grooming special.  Aren’t these three dachshunds just the cutest dogs ever?!!!  I’ve taken photos of Australian Shepherds, Dachshunds, Labs, and mixed breeds  And every one of them were such great posers!  Of course a good photographer’s assistant and lots and lots and lots of treats helps!  Enjoy!

Jonesy 21A mind of his own!   That’s what I remember most when I think about the photo session with Jonesy.  What a gorgeous 9-year old Siberian Husky – but what a stubborn subject.  He loved exploring the wooded park and really wasn’t all that thrilled with wearing reindeer ears – but I must say he wore them well.  We added a tartan plaid red scarf which complimented his coat.  His fur is so thick and so beautiful. His eyes are special too…one is a mottled blue/brown and the other is pure brown. And look at that expressive nose!  We were lucky to still find some fall color and even more lucky to have had a bit of sun on what could have been a typical rainy, gray Oregon day.   Thank you Jonesy for putting up with my “black box” and for being so patient with me.

Four Cats and a Yorkie

JoJo with collarMeet the menagerie headed by JoJo, the tiniest Yorkie I’ve seen in a long time.  I photographed her for her Mom, sister and Grandmother’s holiday card.  She wore the cutest elf costume although it was clear she was embarrassed to be seen in it!  The cats were nonplussed…of course they were not asked to dress up – as if they would!  I spent about an hour taking the pictures of the four gorgeous cats all of which are rescues with their own personalities.  JoJo was very accommodating and spent her time comfortably on the couch.  The cats, well that’s another story.  I crawled around on the floor to get their photos.  I think they enjoyed watching me and making it difficult for me to capture just the right moment.  In the end tho’ I think I succeeded in getting each of them in a relaxed pose.
